The Jesse Greene band, winners of The Ottawa Blues Society's On The Road To Memphis 2009 and band finalists in The 26th International Blues Competition.
In Janaury 2010 the band went to Memphis TN representing Ottawa in the band category for The 26th International Blues Competition.
Out of 111 bands competing, The Jesse Greene Band won the Hard Rock Café venue and was the only Canadian band which made it to the finals at the legendary Orpheum Theatre!
27 year old blues sensation Jesse Greene, lead guitarist and songwriter, fronts her band with deadly guitar chops, a soulful voice, and songs from the heart.
Jesse Greene is possibly one of the youngest veterans of the Ottawa blues scene and at 27 she already boasts of deadly guitar chops as well as multiple appearances at Ottawa's "Bluesfest", both with her former band, the acclaimed Afro-World Beat group Jokko, and with Canadian blues legend Tony D.
Over the last year Jessamyn has managed to write the material for her first full length studio album while at the same time scouring the region for the area’s hottest blues, jazz and rock players. Having now found the right ingredients to cook up her own original brand of rootsy jazz, rock and blues, "The Green Machine" can surely anticipate big things in the near future.
Sharing guitar duties with Jessamyn is Luke Donovan, a mean slide player and twanger out of Peterborough, ON, while Ottawa area Harp Champion Marc Seguin rounds off the bands top end playing harmonica. The low end is held down by the airtight rhythm section of drummer Jason Coté (of the Frank James Band), and Dan Grewal on the bass guitar.
"From Blues and Rock n' Roll to cosmic Soul from beyond....Jesse Greene and her band make my big toe shoot right out of my boot. These guys rock, period." -Tony D- Canadian Blues Ace and founding member of the acclaimed Ottawa based band "Monkey Junk"
