The Jesse Greene Band is an award winning powerhouse blues band. Her performances are passionate and her heartfelt original songs win over audiences wherever she goes. Jesse has an explorative sound steeped in roots and blues with jazzy swing tunes to wrenching folk ballads and rocking scorchers. Jesse has a voice that is as explosive as her guitar playing with Dave Schroeder and Jeff Asselin completing this new lineup to make a well oiled blues machine.

Jesse Greene

Jesse Greene's talent and creativity draw from a diverse musical pallet, including blues, folk, jazz, classical and world music. Her complex and flowing melodic lines aided by her spirited and flawless execution can take the listener on a unique musical journey. With a rich and inspiring bluesy voice, she creates the perfect complement to her strong original songs, and her eclectic renditions of classics. Jesse's welcoming and heartfelt presentation make her performances a very special experience for each member of her audience. Jesse Greene is a driving force on her own as well as an enigmatic player, writer, and vocalist. The Jesse Greene Band won the Ottawa Road to Memphis competition and were finalists at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. With multiple Bluesfest performances over the years and her blues hit Mojo Man that made and stayed in the Dawg FM top 20 for over a year, she is known as a guitarist with deadly chops and a voice full of soul.

Dave Schroeder

Dave Schroeder is a bassist, guitarist, composer and educator based in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. After completing his Bachelor of Music Honours degree in 2004, Dave was awarded a Senate Medal from Carleton University. In 2005, he began studying at the graduate level at the University of Manitoba. In 2006, Dave relocated to Florida to study at the world-renowned University of Miami. He completed a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance in 2008 and was awarded a full scholarship to pursue Doctoral studies. In 2011, Dave received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami, becoming the only Canadian electric bassist ever to attain this honour. He has also spent time studying at Berklee College of Music. Dave currently teaches music at Carleton University, and is very active as an in-demand session bassist and guitarist. Dave has studied guitar with world-class teachers and players such as Steve Pittico, Wayne Eagles and University of Miami Jazz Guitar Chair Randall Dollahon. He has also studied voice with Lauren Richardson. Dave has performed extensively in a wide range of genres including rock, blues, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, celtic, funk, fusion, Afrobeat, country and folk. His career has taken him to performances in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, New York, Massachusetts, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee and Florida. Dave has played with and/or opened for artists such as The Spirit of the West, Bruce Hornsby, April Wine, Junkhouse, The Headstones, Wu-Tang Clan, The Barstool Prophets, The Skydiggers, Tal Wilkenfeld, Big Wreck, Downchild Blues Band, Etta James, John Lee Hooker Junior, Sass Jordan and Kim Mitchell among many others. Dave has also had the opportunity to jam and/or perform with major figures in jazz-related music such as Steve Bailey, Victor Wooten, William Parker, Erik Lawrence, Jeff Hirshfield, Stefon Harris, Terrion Gully and Brazilian guitar legend Nelson Faria.

Jeff Asselin

Jeff Asselin is an international touring musician having toured all over Canada, United States and Europe and has been teaching and performing for over 20 years. In 2004, Jeff graduated from Carleton University with a B Mus – Jazz Performance (High Honors) and a minor in Business. He has also studied and continues to study with some of the best drum teachers in Canada and the USA. Since 2007 Jeff has been studying with the critically acclaimed NYC drummer and teacher Ian Froman. Eager to pass on his knowledge Jeff opened up the Jeff Asselin’s Drum Academy. Along with his drumming staff they have taught hundreds of students from the ages of 5 to 60 years young. Through years of his own training Jeff has developed his unique style and program of teaching. This program can be adapted to all styles of music – from rock to big band to blues and jazz. Since 2009 Jeff has been on staff with Carleton University as a performance coach for their jazz program. All of the staff at Jeff Asselin’s Drum Academy are recognized teachers through the Vic Firth PDT program. They also hold degrees (Bachelor or higher) in Education and/or Music. Over the last two decades I’ve been fortunate enough to study with some of the best drummers in Canada/USA – Larry Graves, Chuck Burrows, Ian Froman, Barry Elms, Chris McCann, Terry Clark, Peter Beaudoin, and KOSA (Aldo Mazza).
